The monolith with the yoke and arrows that were in the plaza of the Church of La Aljorra has been removed this morning, October 20, by municipal officials in compliance with Law 52/2007 of 26 December of Historical Memory, by which they recognize and extends rights and measures in favor of those who padecieronpersecución or violence during the civil war and dictatorship.
Hasta La Aljorra have moved six officers, although a point in time there has been a relay coincided police and ten at the time the service were only six people.
This action has been cabosiguiendo the proposal from the Commission of Historical Memory.
The Full Council of 30 July 2015 approved the creation of a commission to take charge of making a proposal for the municipality of Cartagena will adapt to this Act and requested to prepare its opinion before del31 December of that year.
Therefore, on September 16 was constituted by the Commission and appointed a group of experts to consider the request made to the City by the Association of Historical Memory of Cartagena on April 17, 2015, in which the Association carried out a proposal change of name of streets and removal of busts and other items.

The first retired a few months ago and the yoke and arrows have been removed this morning.
The City must meet the standards and the Law of Historical Memory can not be an exception.
We followed the opinion of the Commission that was created for this purpose, said the councilman of Interior and Public Safety, Francisco Aznar.
The yoke and arrows have moved to the municipal warehouse, where they will remain for if someone calls.
The government team does not rule out that the local church and ask the cross be restored at the site, but without the yoke and arrows.
