The City of Cartagena has participated this morning the fire drill in the Valley of tailings through the Fire Department to test the activation of the Emergency Plan.
The Deputy Mayor Francisco Calderon has come to oversee the coordination tasks of the different forces that participated in the drill.
A fire station, consisting of a truck bomb, and the assistance of a private first class, a driver and four firefighters have collaborated with the forest brigades first in the simulation of a wildfire in the area near the gas tanks Repsol, to smother the fire and protect the area in contact with deposits.
Subsequently, it activated External Emergency Plan Chemical Industry Escombreras Valley to test the effectiveness of its procedures, where they proceeded to protect and cool a gas tank and prevent the spread of fire.
In the drill, organized by the Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency Murcia and Repsol, involving more than 80 effective emergency services of the Autonomous Community, the City of Cartagena and the refinery Repsol to check coordination and response capacity of the various media to an event of this kind.
