The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, presided this morning in Madrid the meeting of the Committee of Economic Development and Employment of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) which has been presented the Work Plan 2016-2019.

The Plan is based on several lines of work as the impetus to collaboration, once left formed the new state government, with the Ministry of Employment and Social Security in order to identify possible avenues of collaboration among which are the creation of a network of local employment agencies working in collaboration with the SEPE and public employment services of the Autonomous Communities;

the implementation of an information network on employment and local development that facilitates the flow of information;

collaboration with the State Foundation for Employment Training, promoting the holding of information days aimed at municipal technicians on existing aid for vocational training in employment;

the development of a guide - in digital format - of Good Practice on active employment policies at the local level and collaboration with various stakeholders in the field of employment as the Forum of Cities for Employment;

Entities Network for Local Development and the State Federation of Local Development Professionals.

Similarly, the Plan, which will run until 2019, provides for the holding of a conference on good employment practices at the municipal level, part of the Continuing Education Plan FEMP;

support the international campaign for the declaration of the Decade of Youth Employment;

guidance to local authorities in relation to the social responsibility of municipal enterprises;

effective management of labor migration flows in seasonal agricultural campaigns as well as the study of the possibilities of collaboration with representatives of the industrial estates and business areas statewide.

REPRESENTATION OF THE FEMP in different organisms

Moreover, during the meeting of the Commission it has been appointed the representatives of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces in various organizations such as the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs;

the Monitoring Committee of the ESF Operational Programme for Employment, Training and Education (2014-2020) and the Monitoring Committee of the ESF Operational Programme 2014-2020 Youth Employment, giving continuity to the representation of the FEMP in those working groups to in order to promote the development of initiatives already underway.

For his part, Jose Lopez has shown its commitment to take part of the different calls of these organisms as chairman of the Committee on Economic Development and Employment.

The Commission, chaired by Lopez, has as main purpose to support the work of local employment services and the coordination of these with the regional and state, in order to develop effective policies in this area.
