This morning, October 13, a new meeting of officers working the Year of the Enlightenment under the chairmanship of Mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez has taken place.
During the meeting, which took place in the Hall of Aldermen of the Town Hall, it has been reported that the program of events of the Year of the Enlightenment will begin on January 20, coinciding with the date of birth of Carlos III.
Similarly, it has been agreed that the Museum Night 2017 will be dedicated to the Enlightenment.
In addition, the collective members of the Bureau have provided different ideas and proposals that will be reflected in the draft programming already being developed.
The celebration of the Year of Enlightenment, to be held in Cartagena during the next 2017, is an initiative of the Culture and Heritage Archaeological who runs Ricardo Segado and seeks to continue the line of work undertaken by the municipal government recognition of history from Cartagena.
Workbench of the Year of the Enlightenment is composed of members of the government team, representatives of the military and academia, associations and municipal technicians.
The Year of the Enlightenment will be dedicated to disseminate this essential historical period for Cartagena knowledge through a triple aspect: culture, society and heritage.
XI ANNUAL MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CITIES AND ENTITIES OF ILLUSTRATION
The area councilor for Culture and Heritage, Ricardo Segado represents, from today, 13 October, the City of Cartagena in the eleventh annual meeting of the International Association of Cities and Entities of the Enlightenment (AICEI) held in the city Portuguese Covilha until next Saturday.
The event, whose main theme is Knowledge and mercantilism, contemplates the realization of various conferences and exhibitions.
In addition, participants in the meeting enjoy visits to the historic center of Covilha or the Royal Textile Factory, as well as a show of historical recreation.
The AICEI, which Cartagena is part, aims to promote knowledge and protection of tangible and intangible heritage legacy of the Enlightenment.
