On Friday October 7, during celebrations next day the National Party, an act of solemn lowering of flag was held on the forecourt of the Royal Scale Alfonso XII Pier Port of Cartagena, at 19.30 hours .
the 445 anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Lepanto, in which he participated as a soldier of the famous sea and illustrious writer Miguel de Cervantes is also commemorated.
Participating forces were a Company of Mixed Honors formed by sections of Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 (RAAAs-73) of the Army, the Maritime Action Force and the School of Marine General Albacete Fuster of the Navy, General Air Academy Air Force, the Civil Guard, Tertius Music Unit Levante Marines and a flagman mixed detachment.
The event was chaired by Admiral Maritime Action (almart), Vice Admiral Manuel Mora-Figueroa Puente, who was accompanied by the mayor, Jose Lopez, and other civil and military authorities.
