The Governing Council approved the conclusion of an agreement between the Community, through the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, and Transportes Urbanos de Cartagena, to encourage the use of public transport for students and university staff to universities located in Cartagena.
It aims to increase urban mobility of students to those attached to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), University of Murcia (UMU), Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM) and Associated Center of the National University of Education centers Distance (UNED), with significant tariff reductions on the regular ticket price.
The Community allocated a total grant of 135,000 euros as compensation for the application of UNIBON University, which provides a discount on the bonus intended for students.
UNIBON offers students and university staff unlimited travel card for 20 euros per month and is valid for all lines of public bus transportation in the municipality of Cartagena.
The Community promotes the public service through comprehensive policies that the operationalization of the right to mobility of citizens, establishing routes, itineraries, tours, expeditions, stops and frequency adapted to the needs of users, and promote the use of discounted tickets.
