Today Wednesday, September 28, the official opening of the academic year 2016/17 public universities in the Region of Murcia has taken place.

The auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena on the campus of the Sea Wall (Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering, former Navy Hospital) has been the setting for this event.

The event was attended by the President of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Antonio Sanchez;

the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez;

Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejon;

the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Diaz and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, among other authorities.

By the Consistory of Cartagena they were also attended by the mayors, Francisco Aznar and David Martinez.
