More than 300 people will attend the opening tomorrow in the UPCT Course (27/09/2016)

More than 300 people will attend the opening ceremony tomorrow of course in public universities in the region, to be held in the auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).

The opening ceremony of the academic year 2016-2017 will start at 11.30 am and will be chaired by the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Diaz, rector of the University of Murcia José Orihuela, and will be attended by President of the Autonomous Community Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

At 11 am the procession will be organized in the courtyard of the School of Industrial Engineering, which will address the Assembly Hall at 1125 hours.

Speakers will include teachers in public universities in the region.

The ceremony will feature the Vocal Group of the University Choir and Brass Ensemble Orchestra of the University of Murcia, directed by Jorge Losana, who will perform, among others, 'Earl of Oxford March' by William Byrd.

During the ceremony the Secretary General of the UPCT, Maria del Carmen Alvarez Pastor and Secretary General of the UMU, Santiago Manuel Alvarez, will read the report of the Academic year 2015-2016 of their respective institutions.

The professor of the Department of Economics, Sociology and Agricultural Policy UPCT, Maria Dolores de Miguel will deliver the inaugural lecture entitled 'Teaching innovation: A rapid evolution?'.

Then take part the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Diaz Morcillo.

Concluded the speeches of presidents, the regional president, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, declared inaugurated the course.
