One more year, the Alfonso XIII hotel hosted the V International Chess Tournament 2200 organized by sub Chess Club Deportivo LaPuerta.
The tournament was played between 16 and 18 September and brought together some 138 jugadoresprocedentes from different parts of Spain.
The Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, was in charge of distributing the prizes to the winners in a tournament that has been supported by the Department of Sports delAyuntamiento of Cartagena.
This tournament has established itself as a importantedentro appointment of the chess national scene.
Participants were from a wide range of edadesdesde the U 8 to veterans, playing against each other.
Many of them were children competing in the championship of Spain and with its level, it became very difficult to adults and veterans.
The winner was Alberto Marquez Zarate gaditano and it is noteworthy that the fifth place went to Aaron Alonso with thirteen he got into the top positions in the overall standings.
On the other hand, Alejandro Manzanares won the award for best player U10.
