The Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, received this morning at the Palacio Molina young cartagenera Claudia Manzanares, Spain recent champion in junior category paddle, which also marked his ascent to first place in the national ranking.
Manzanares won the title in the Championship of Spain paddle minors, held in Zaragoza from 1 to 4 September, with his partner Esther Butcher.
Cartagenera, who started the competition as fourth seed, won the final 6-1, 6-2, ending the tournament without dropping a set.
The mayor congratulated on his victory and Manzanares has transmitted the pride of the City Council for their achievements and take the name of Cartagena to the top in the world of paddle tennis.

Student of second degree in the IES Los Molinos de Barrio Peral, Claudia was born in Cartagena on 12 July 1999. His initiation in the paddle took place just three years ago, after passing through the tennis world with his coach, Oscar Ruiz also cartagenero.
He combines his studies with training at the club Paddle Tennis Center Carthage and Tecnificación group Padel Region, based in Cartagena, where he works to stay in the elite of the sport.
