The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, has expressed his condolences, on behalf of itself and the Municipal Corporation, the family of Jose Manuel Claver Valderas, president of the Central Union of Irrigation Aqueduct Tajo Segura, who died yesterday at 61 years of age .
Lopez stressed Claver figure, always signified by the stubborn defense of the interests and rights of irrigators in the region, reaching sometimes face for it to regional and national authorities.
He was a founding member and member of the board of the union from 1982 until he took over the presidenciaen substitution of Francisco del Amor in 2009
