More than fifty artists, armed with his paintings and his paintings, filled the streets of Cartagena to capture in his work the rich Modernist heritage of the city in the first contest Air Painting Free City of Cartagena: Streams of Modernism that had place on Saturday, September 10th.
With this competition organized by the city of Cartagena with the Regional Rural Fund and Lalumier Events Foundation & Communication aims to show the momentum and recognition to artists in the field of painting, as well as the great cultural and architectural heritage which houses the port city.
From early morning, the Plaza de San Sebastián hosted the registration of participants who, after sealing the box, received a backpack with a cap, a map of the city, a T-shirt Year of Modernism Cartagena, a bottle of water and a ticket to exchange for a menu at a downtown restaurant in the area.
About sixty amateur and professional, locals and foreigners, painters were arriving and being distributed through the Old Town of the city, settling with their easels to perform their works in front of modernist buildings and grounds of the municipality.
At 18:00 pm the Plaza de San Sebastián convertió in exhibitor space of all works to delight the public and for evaluation of the jury, communicating the decision an act, two hours later.
WINNERS
The first prize of 1,200 euros went to Blai Tomás Ibáñez, who earned recognition value.
Alberto Marquez took second 800 euros and Honorable Mention went to Malaga Alfredo Lopez.
Both sponsored by the Regional Rural Safety Foundation awards, also won a plaque commemorating the City of Cartagena hand.
In junior category was the young artist Maria Garcia winning the 300 euro prize offered by the art gallery Gigarpe;
and child were Daniela Maria Gallego, David Pujalte and Jose Jimenez, selected the awards of artistic material valued at 100 euros, 60 euros and 40 euros respectively, company-sponsored Miguel Angel Fine Arts took.
Meanwhile, all participants received a diploma from the organization for their involvement in the contest.
