The Federation of Teaching CCOO in the Region of Murcia, exposed to this general direction of educational centers, the plight of overcrowding in the nursery and primary students are in the Cartagena deputation of the Aljorra.
After visiting the "Ceip Miguel de Cervantes" and "Ceip La Aljorra" intestate and the needs of students and teachers, we have the following situation in both public schools:
The CEIP Miguel de Cervantes there is an approximate enrollment of 300 students, covering a total of 12 classrooms (existing 3 groups unfolded in the level of child).
In this public school there is a "bunkhouse" where they teach one group of students.
In this school toilets for the students are completely obsolete (are latrines) and in the staffroom can fit half a dozen lucky (they were literally some old kitchens).
The CEIP La Aljorra, a total of 12 classrooms there are also, for a total of approximately 310 students (with more added daily, due to the origin of an important part of the student body), one of those classrooms this year of a size derisory (possibly not Lawful and certainly inappropriate for teaching a group of 25 students), this room was an old warehouse and headquarters of AMPA, which has obviously disappeared.
In this college in the hall for the library, classes are countless because there is no space for classes and splittings alternative to the Catholic religion.
Therefore, you can not make effective use of the library, essential in a school.
As is obvious and can be seen with a simple visit of educational administration to these centers, public schools are overcrowded and conditions to develop teaching faculty are not the most appropriate, just the opposite, the teachers are suffering inaction of the Ministry of education and the regional government, like the 600 students of La Aljorra.
This problem is not new (hence the criticism of the Federation of Education) to the ineptitude of this counseling and their leaders, sequencing of events is as follows:
- 2004, construction project of a new school to completely replace the 2 existing centers.
- Year 2010, presentation of an official project on a plot of 14,000 m2, with 2 lines (18 classrooms) and school canteen, although it would replace only the CEIP Miguel de Cervantes.
- August 2014, news release, only 1 line is replaced and only one of the schools, the possible location (city of Cartagena) is changed and happens to have half the space, 7,000 m2.
In addition to the aggravation of unfulfilled promises (direct promises of the mayor and deputy Pilar Barreiro), we find an amelioration of the projects to be officially presented and that leak to the press, more serious for this Directorate General aspect Educational centers, which has not yet met with the principals and teachers of these public schools teams, which denotes an incomprehensible attitude of lack of collaboration and information to dozens of teachers who provide teaching in our public schools.
From the Federation of Teaching CCOO we ask and urge the General Directorate of Educational Centers and the Ministry of Education:
Give urgent and direct feedback to teachers and management teams CEIP CEIP Aljorra and Miguel de Cervantes.
The construction of an educational center 3 lines (27 classrooms), with dining service and classrooms to meet the attention to diversity commitment.
That works as quickly as possible begin, before the Third overcrowding of 600 students.
