The Infrastructure area led by the Mayor, Jose Lopez, has begun construction of an urban park to be located in a municipal plot, currently unused, among Cyclamen and Peroniño streets and highway Tentegorra, near the Sports Palace Cartagena.
Its construction is a new step for total conditioning the environment of that sports facility.
Work has begun with the earthwork, and the general earthworks.
This action has been done with local resources, using stones from the jetties removed from Los Urrutias, recycled stones suitable for other uses.
Also, through other materials from managed infrastructure which has enabled a significant savings for municipal coffers, in a clear example of the resource optimization policy undertaken by the Executive led by Lopez.
The second phase of the project includes the preparation of the plot as a green area, action plan framed in a broader fitness that will affect other areas of the municipality and whose procurement tenders will soon have a budget output will reach 241,000 euros.
The park includes the existence of comprehensive and continuous manner, earthen floors, green corridors and wooded, mitigating elements to the fight against climate change.
The park will have three plateaus, allowing, in the center of the site an acoustic and anti-pollution screen set, leading to a wetter and enjoyable for users microclimate.
The park will have a lake, jetty and picnic areas for recreation.
It should be noted that the park will be populated with a selection of native vegetation whose treatment requires less water requirement.
In this way, residents and visitors can enjoy a meeting point where the contact with nature and encourage healthy habits.
