Students participate UPCT Racing Team this weekend with his new car car racing in international competition Formula Student Spain 2016 (FSS 2016), held at the Montmelo circuit from today.
The UPCT Racing Team presents its second prototype single-seater racing car with electric motor, which students have developed during this course.
It is a vehicle capable of speeds exceeding 200 km / h with a range of over 30 km, equipped with electric motor of the latest generation, optimized security systems and vehicle control, braking system, suspension system, system steering and chassis, and a refined aerodynamic design, explains professor Patricio Franco.
The vehicle is prepared to overcome the stringent tests that exist in the competition, including both static tests as are technical, tilt inspection, and electromagnetic compatibility as dynamic testing circuit such as the acceleration, braking, handling, and resistance and energy efficiency, according to the professor, head of UPCT Racing Team
The UPCT Racing Team hopes to get an excellent score in both tests technical nature such as presentation and defense of the developments made such as the design event (test design), cost event (manufacturing test) and presentation event (test marketing), and testing circuit prototype next-generation electric car designed, analyzed, optimized, manufactured and driven by students UPCT.
UPCT will be one of the few Spanish teams entered in this demanding international competition for engineering students.
Of the 70 participating teams, most of them come from German and English universities.
Of the two currently existing categories in this competition (combustion engine and electric motor), the UPCT Racing Team competes for the second consecutive year in the category of electric vehicles.
Franco, on behalf of UPCT Racing Team, expressed his gratitude to all sponsors and associates of this team competition, "because without their help it would not be possible to develop this ambitious project."
