The Department of Planning and Infrastructure has begun work on upgrading the roundabout at the junction of Paseo de Alfonso XIII Captains Ripoll to install inside, at the request of the residents of Sector Station, a scale replica made years ago by students Polytechnic Institute of Cartagena.

The replica of the submarine was recently transferred, at the request of the neighbors, by the Ministry of Education at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena for it to be exposed in the said roundabout, located on the campus of the Paseo de Alfonso XIII.

For this, the City Council has started to put up the sidewalk perimeter of the roundabout to then fill it with a layer of gravel and install a pedestal on which the submarine will be placed.

The deadline for execution of these works is about two weeks and cost about 6,000 euros.

The tasks will not affect the traffic, except in very specific cases.

This is a first phase, since the final conditioning of the rotunda, which includes installing water dispensers around the submarine, will be held later.
