From Friday, August 12, is open to traffic on the motorway viaduct Murcia on entry to Cartagena, where the work of rehabilitation and continue improving its structure.
The estimated overall lafinalización of the work, according to the Ministry of Public Works, the date is September 30 and the remaining tasks will run without producing any alteration in traffic.
The rehabilitation of the viaduct has allowed repair the damage presented by the bridge, especially in the vicinity of the old factory Potasas y Derivados, caused by the negative effect they have had emissions into the atmosphere on the structure of the A-30.
So far the works involved in the repair and improvement of the board, pillars and containment systems viaduct 670 meters long, and replacement of concrete barriers bordering the roadway of the viaduct for a new, more powerful metal guardrail, approved in accordance with the current regulations of the Ministry of Public Works, which requires strengthening the outer edges of the board.
The works, carried out by the State Highway Demarcation with a budget of 2.6 million euros, last January began under the viaduct with the rehabilitation of the pillars and elements of formwork board.
This initial work did not affect traffic.
After Easter the use of machinery specialized high-power outages forced to make alternative road, in the direction of entry and exit of the city.
