As is tradition, every August 15 the coastal town of Cabo de Palos attracts thousands of residents and visitors about the day when his patron is honored, the Virgen del Carmen, with a procession in which fishermen take shoulders through the streets of the town.
Among the crowd of people who wanted to participate in this conference, Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejon was;
Councilman Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon;
Decentralization and the mayor of Celebration, Juan Pedro Torralba;
Councillor of Finance, Isabel García;
and the mayor of Social Services, Carmen Martin.
The Virgin was subsequently shipped on Astrid II to tour the bay and stroll along the waters of Cabo de Palos.
It was on the boat when it experienced one of the most popular moments of this event, as it is used to remember the deceased sailors;
in this case, it was the Deputy Mayor in charge of launching the anchor of flowers in his memory.
