A new concept of movement and sport reaches Cartagena through the first edition of Nordic, to be held on Sunday October 9 in the vicinity of the Green Mile and comprising a type of exercise based on cross-country skiing to walk with poles using a technique that allows an agile and powerful movement.
Have been Ricardo Segado, mayor of Sports, along with Jose Antonio Perez, event organizer, who presented him Wednesday, extolling the benefits of this type of physical health exercise because it sets in motion the most muscles, as he highlighted Segado.
The initiative, which is beginning to be implemented in Spain but is still very new, lands in our city thanks to the collaboration between the Department of Sports City of Cartagena and the Ramblers Center Cartagena, they intend to promote the sport recently federated with a unique event in our area that already has registered participants from different parts of Spain.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
The test will start and end at the old station Barrio Peral, since the route will be developed in a circuit by the northern half of the Green Mile to which he will reach 6 laps for a total distance of 15 km.
We chose the Green Mile, commented Pérez, because we think it is a place of Cartagena with great potential but that is little used.
The starting signal will be given at 10.00 hours and will have two and a half hours to complete the course, which is compacted earth.
For the winners, trophies in absolute categories, master 60, younger and better technique, both female and male will be awarded.
PARALLEL ACTIVITIES
In addition to the race itself, on 8 October organized a training seminar Nordic walking, under the title Sharing experiences, aims to serve as a link between organizers, participants and instructors of this technique to learn together and resolve potential issues that arise.
