3D techniques to help visitors orient themselves in the vast building that houses the School of Industrial Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
The student Francisco Javier Martínez Abellán has already done, for Final Project in Industrial Engineering, full modeling basement offering virtual tours that allow you to locate the various classrooms and service reprographics and study hall located in the plant.
From the measurements made by laser, the student has reconstructed three-dimensional 15 classrooms, reprographics service and the central space and huge basement corridors, including all parts and furniture accessories.
"It has been possible to achieve a photorealistic appearance using imported from actual photographs and lighting effects, using powerful computing resources for processing textures", highlights the new industrial engineer from the Polytechnic.
This work is part of a project led by Professor Department of Graphic Expression Julian Conesa for 3D modeling of other plants of the former Navy Hospital, because the intention of the School of Industrial is put touch screens in both the northern access and the south entrance of the building from which the virtual tours may be made to the various offices for anyone to be lost.
The virtual tour, and thus the location of the units can also be performed from any mobile device.
