Through the Community of Cartagena de Sisters of the Assumption of the neighborhood José María de Lapuerta, and in collaboration with the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, between 22 and 29 July was held in our CITIZE workshop experiences of Coexistence and Volunteering which involved young Cartagena and Alicante from 17 to 30 years old.
The objectives of this workshop have been through learning to live together against fanaticism and exclusions, make work experiences and responses to make the world a house together and take care of the house interior with times of silence, prayer and personal and group reflection.
Throughout the week-long visits were made to various programs and units of the Department of Social Services and Housing program, People Transients and Homeless, to the Immigration Unit of Elderly and Disability and Social Services center.
During the visit to the programs, the technicians were explaining to them the various actions and responded to concerns about the work presented from the municipalities are made with these groups.
Also these young people have come some of the services provided from social organizations like the Huertecica, Caritas, Accem or La Botica del Libro.
Note that the Little Sisters of the Assumption are developing their work to support individuals and families in exclusion, vulnerable groups such as immigrants and the community work that takes place in the Coordinator of Barrio de José María de Lapuerta, among others.
