Within the Plan Monitoring Phytoplankton being developed in the area of ​​the Mar Menor from the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Autonomous Community, analyzes last week, with samples collected on July 25, shed some results positive that determine the beaches are suitable for swimming, according to microbiological parameters showing the health status of the waters.
This time, samples have been collected on the beaches of Los Aliseos, Playa Honda, Los Urrutias, Playa Manzanares and Playa El Castillico.
In the comparison made with the previous week, the density of phytoplankton registered slight increases in Los Aliseos and Los Urrutias, while in Playa Honda has declined and Manzanares and El Castillico have obtained similar results.
In all, the risk to bathers is low or zero.
Regarding the species involved, the conclusion of this week says that after the general decay of the proliferation of diatom Cylindroteca closterium (non-toxic) there has been a surge of cell density smaller and more diverse dominating several species density still low.
