Result of the concern and initiative of a large group of students of Professional and Higher Teachings of natural music of our city, has born the project of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, which offered its inaugural concert on July 17 in the auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).

As part of the support for this initiative by the council, the appointment is not lost the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, and the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez.

This training commitment to develop and expand, through its musical contribution, the scope of the cultural offerings of regional scope in when symphony orchestras.

In addition, the JOSCT has the institutional support of the UPCT and delConservatorio Professional music of Cartagena.

Since it is presented as a musical non-profit association, the entrance to the performance marked only cost 3 euros to cover own expenses for organizing the event.

The audience could enjoy a repertoire which was composed of a first part with the overture Rosamunday Unfinished Symphony, both the Viennese composer Franz Schubert;

and a second part that touched some of the most famous soundtracks, such as Gladiator, The fox or Star Wars.

All this will be under the baton of young cartagenero Director Alvaro Pintado.
