The area councilor for Culture and Heritage, Ricardo Segado, met this morning with members of the Student Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) to address various issues of interest to the university community of the city.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Student Council, Francisco Joaquin Jimenez and municipal officers and a representative of the municipal company Casco Antiguo.
The mayor explained that the main purpose of this meeting was to determine the fundamental problem of the university community and try to bring the City Council and the Council students UPCT culturally, leisure, infrastructure and transport.
Similarly, various initiatives have tried to show young people the cultural and leisure offer that has Cartagena, which is a lot, but may not know everything that should, pointed Segado.
Among other proposals, it has spoken to facilitate access to the map Cartagena Cooltura that has developed with the momentum of the Youth Council and where alternative and original places that develop cultural activities and entertainment shows.
It has also raised coordinate the cultural agendas of both institutions, which aims to combine efforts in events like gastronomic routes to re-energize evening outings and leisure among students.
COLLABORATION WILL CONTINUE
Late last June, the mayor, Jose Lopez, received a representative of the Student Council to see first hand impressions of the student community.
In this sense, Segado noted after the meeting this morning that there is a desire for continuous collaboration between the two institutions.
During the meeting have been addressed other issues such as housing table that coordinates the Youth Council and, according to the council, should be centralized to achieve optimal service to citizens.
