Craft workshops, visits to the pool and hiking, among other activities, make summer school that the Department of Social Services delAyuntamiento of Cartagena has organized lostranseúntes and the homeless and to be held from 18 to 22 July .
This experience, totalmentepionera in the municipality, encourage the summer season of one of the most disadvantaged sectors of society.
The press room of the Town Hall has welcomed today, July 8, the presentation of these activities has been borne by the Councillor for Social Services, Carmen Martin, accompanied by the coordinator of Social Services, Damian Olmos and the technician programming, José Antonio Martínez Meca.
Carmen Martin has reported that since the Department of Social Services continue working to provide more opportunities and possibilities for improvement so we can get out of the situation they have been pushed.
José Antonio Martínez, highlighted the innovative character of this summer school is to strengthen the right to leisure and free time for this group.
Meanwhile, Damian Olmos pointed out that this programming is made with more creativity than resources in order to dignify the lives of the homeless.
With these activities the Department intended that the homeless relate in a different environment than usual and learn to live together in a group, while enjoying the experience with recreational and leisure activities that are planned, among which self-esteem workshops, tours of the archaeological heritage of the city, healthy breakfasts or activities of corporal expression, dance and meditation.
In addition, transversely habits such as hygiene, healthy eating or laimportacia to meet a schedule and attitudes of friendship, self-esteem, solidarity, affection and communication between participants are enhanced are encouraged.
This complete program will be aimed at 20 people of different nationalities at risk of exclusion they have also participated in other programs of the Department or belonging to organizations collaborating on the project.

The summer school is organized by the Unit of Prevention and Social Promotion and the Service Homeless and passersby of the Department of Social Services City of Cartagena, as well as the local police, Cartagena Port of Cultures, CEA -The Huertecica, Caritas, Red Cross, Santa Teresa Hospitality, ACCEM and Major Unit.
