Deputy Mayor and head of the Department of Economic and Employment Strategy, Ana Belén Castejon, has launched today the Bureau of Local Employment, which was attended by the president of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations (COEC), Pedro Pablo Hernández;
President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Martinez;
the director of the Agency of Local Development and Employment, Diego Peñarrubia;
the regional secretary of the UGT, Fulgencio Andreu;
the Employment responsale Comisiones Obreras, Santiago Navarro;
and Secretary of the UNED, Antonio Rubio.
By the UPCT, their representatives will join the next meeting.
The objective of this first meeting was to outline and lay the foundation of this organization, whose priority is to become an instrument of participation of socioeconomic agents to promote recovery and economic revitalization in Cartagena, and to contribute to the generation of jobs work.
Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejon said that although the City Council has no competence in employment, it can facilitate the analysis of potential labor niches, as well as deficiencies or virtues of the market.
He also indicated that this may be the first step to reach consensus on a Local Employment Pact in force until the end of term.
Initially, work has been raised from two committees;
a strategy based on the basis of industrial, commercial and agricultural economic development, and another focused on the basis of training for employment.
Castejon noted that once the Local Board has been constituted, be invited to be part of it to laComunidad Autonomous, the SEF and INFO.
It is important that whoever has the powers join this cause and help us move forward in this matter.
The frequency with which this Committee will meet quarterly basis and once this amount is set, Ana Belén Castejon has announced he will call and inform all political groups of the opposition, in this way, work together all political forces represented in the city of Cartagena employment because the issue is so important that we must all pull in the same direction.
UNEMPLOYMENT DATA
The Councillor for Economic Strategy stressed that at present in employment there is a small uptick since, according Castejon, unemployment fell in June at 799 people compared to May, and 1,648 in relation to June 2015. in addition, 40% of people who have found employment in the last month have been women.
Although unemployment figures are never positive, we can appreciate the fact that more women go accessing the labor market.
