According to the spokesman of Citizens Cartagena, Manuel Padin, "we live in a society that every day becomes more aware of the plight of animals and aims to further improve the management of municipal policies on animal protection."
Several animal associations such as Animalista Group of the Region of Murcia (GARM), have led to different political groups, including Citizens, to pass on concerns about the inability of the different municipal shelters for animals to meet its needs, so that many of these tasks are taking these associations and animal care groups without receiving any compensation.
For this reason Citizens in the Region of Murcia, through all municipal groups will present at the consistory where is represented a motion for approval, as a matter of urgency, a prevention plan collection and adoption of animals, with the collaboration of different animal associations which are duly recognized.
In the motion an agreement will also be asked to veterinary clinics for emergency care and other services that are not provided by the shelters, and awarding grants are approved, with due assessment, billing and justification, to cover expenses that animalistic associations have funded and fund services to address these through veterinary clinics, as this work would have to be paying the municipalities themselves.
