Reading and writing have always been understood as two traditionally linked concepts, and perhaps with this thought now Mandarache Prize Youth Council of the City of Cartagena has decided to go one step further and not be limited to disseminate works among participants but also introduce them in creating their own.
To this end, this morning presented the content and background of a new initiative that will be part of this contest for its next edition, Book Mandarache, a pilot action that, as has told the mayor of Youth, Ricardo Segado , it is aimed at training young people between 15 and 30 years in the world of literary creation.
The setting chosen for the presentation was the library of the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQUA), as this center works with the initiative and will be the scenario in which the selected group will receive both normal sessions and lectures hand the authors finalists for the period from October to June.
Patricia Recio, conservative Dissemination Area ARQUA, expressed his satisfaction with this collaboration and highlighted the great work of Mandarache Prize.
In the press conference has also appeared Jose Alcaraz, poet and writer Balduque, who emphasized the great talent and potential among young detected Cartagena, and has detailed all the features of the project.
Among the thousands of entries each year, 15 will be selected to participate in Mandarache book, which will be trained not only on land but also in creative literary researcher and environment as the functioning of publishers, printers or libraries.
INSCRIPTION
All those participants edition of Mandarache and Hache Award 2015/2016 can register and presenting a letter of motivation, a brief biography and a sample of your work in any genre.
The documentation must be submitted in printed form at the Department of Youth, Paseo Alfonso XIII, 51, before 30 September 2016. From there, an expert committee will evaluate the nominations to elect the 15 fortunate.
