The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, has moved this afternoon to Santa Ana to know the headquarters theAssociation Community Integration of Mentally Ill of Cartagena and Shire (APICES), where it has been received by the president of the organization, Miguel Nieto, as well as the center's director, Maria Jose Hernandez.
There, the mayor has toured the facilities of the association and to deepen the knowledge of losprogramas and services the Day Centre APICES located in the Ventorrillos Villa, (Carretera Madrid Cartagena, Km 431, Santa Ana) provides to its users in relation to the social, psychological, medical and psychiatric care;
nursing programs communication and social skills;
functional academic skills;
communication and social skills;
health education, skills functional autonomy and home life;
safety and occupational tasks;
leisure time and occupational therapy program.
During the visit, Jose Lopez, who has received various gifts made by users APICES, thanked the affection received, while extolling the magnificent work done by workers and voluntarios¿.
On the other hand, the mayor has attended the viewing of Respect, a flashmob staged by members of the family of APICES incident on the need to transfer this value to the social contribution to integration and rehabilitation of this group.
APICES also provides additional services, complementary to basic, as legal advice;
Accompanying hospital or social care efforts.
It also has agreements with universities and institutes and training centers for conducting practices.
