Circus Apollo Theater El Algar was this weekend the stage and backdrop of the awards delCertamen National Amateur Theatre of Cartagena, which this year celebrated its first edition.
At the close it was a name like protagonist Presas, the Carafur Company and Baranda, the highest decorations of both the jury and the public was.
Among the ladies two finalists works, the second prize went on the Company Taules Teatre Brothers and sisters, who also awarded the title of best actor Tomas Mestre and beating the other finalist, August, Druid Theatre Company.
These two works have been the winners from among thirty candidates from throughout the Spanish geography that have been submitted to this contest.
This event, which has the support of the City of Cartagena, was attended by the mayor, Jose Lopez, as well as Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejon;
Councilman Area Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon;
the mayor delegate of Finance, Isabel García;
and the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez, who enjoyed by the rest of the audience an evening with performances of humor.
In addition to a diploma of the contest that will be delivered to each group, the winning entry received a prize of 1,000 euros in cash and a sculpture by Jorge Garcia Aznar.
Second place received 500 euros in cash and another sculpture by the same author.
In addition, also they received an award for best female and male performance and best actor and actress.
The jury for the selection was made by the mayor of Culture itself, in addition to Esperanza Clares, Alquibla Theatre, and Alfredo Avila, Teatro La Murga.
