Today has been constituted the Bureau of Air Quality area of ​​Alum whose aim will be to analyze the situation of air quality in the vicinity of the deputation of Alum, especially because of its proximity to the industrial center of the Valley of tailings.
The constitution of this table was approved by full agreement, through a joint motion of municipal groups PSOE, MC and CTSSP.
The administrative building of San Miguel has welcomed today, Thursday, June 16, this meeting which was chaired by the councilor for the Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon.
According to the mayor of Quality of Life, this table is born with the will to be the platform to channel and bring together actions concerning air quality, in this case in Alum, and keep informed agents and citizens.
Its aim, according to the mayor, will exchange information and materials on air quality and the impact that emissions could have on public health.
Francisco Calderon stressed that the municipal government has proposed three working groups: one dedicated to communication and transparency;
another will study both legislation and regional, national and international regulations;
and a third that will analyze and channel the information to be collected on the table.
In this first they detracted called the spokespersons of the municipal groups;
representatives of the General Directorates of Quality and Environmental Assessment;
Energy, industrial and mining activities;
Citizen Safety and Emergency;
and Public Health;
the Association of Escombreras Valley (AEVE);
the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering UPCT;
Naturalists Association of Southeast;
Neighborhood Board and neighborhood associations of Alum, Vista Alegre and Media Legua;
Management Health Area II;
and municipal technicians.
About the actors involved in the table, Francisco Calderon added that for these prime mainstreaming meetings, participation will be extended to anyone who could bring something.
Finally, the mayor has said that the frequency with which the table Air Quality will meet quarterly.
