The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, along with other authorities has been in charge of welcoming today, June 14, twenty students from ITE College Singapore to study for two weeks an intensive Telecommunications and Sports Management which will accompanied by cultural, sports and language activities at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The reception was held in the auditorium Isaac Peral of the Faculty of Business of the UPCT and has attended the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Diaz Morcillo;
the Director General of Universities and Education of the CARM, Juan Monzó;
President of the Port Authority, Antonio Sevilla;
as well as the representative of Real Madrid in Singapore, Sergio Cervantes.
The mayor has acted as host and invited students to enjoy Cartagena, Mediterranean, welcoming and safe city with 3000 years of history.
The mayor wished this stay students expand their knowledge and will be useful for your future career.
Finally, Lopez, has tended a hand to students and told them to have this mayor and the City Council for what they need.
Students, who will be accompanied by two teachers, will attend for two weeks (from 15 to 24 June) two fixed modules: one of Castilian, with two hours of language teaching, and another of Spanish culture;
and two optional modules: one for telecommunications, which will focus on programming IOS and Android mobile devices, and other sports management with the participation of institutions such as the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, La Manga Club, the Faculty of Sciences Business of the UPCT and the football team Real Madrid.
Asian students have the opportunity to visit Cartagena and meet many of the typical activities that make up the Spanish culture.
They know the hand of a guide archaeological remains of the city, including the neighborhood elTeatro Roman and Roman Forum.
They tour the environment Cartagena visiting La Union, Cabo de Palos and La Manga.
Also, they have the opportunity to taste the typical chocolate with churros, know the intricacies of Spanish lacocina, and attend a flamenco show.
