About 80 students of the subject Project 7 degree in architecture presented Friday at 16:30 hours in the Motors Building the fifty models reflecting as many proposals remodeling Campus Alfonso XIII for the construction of a new School of Architecture.
The architect Martin Lejárraga give a talk on university architecture and the authors of the three best projects will present their building designs to the rector and school principals present at the Campus of Alfonso XIII.
"The exhibition will help us understand the range of possible remodeling of the Campus," Professor Jaume Blancafort progresses.
Among the most prominent proposals, building a 21-storey tower as an architectural landmark of the city and the creation of a collective work shop open 24 hours for students.
"Party of the needs that currently have students has been," says Blancafort.
"We spent many hours here and we lack multipurpose spaces and rest areas," says Sergio Cerezuela, who along with Pablo Garcia Meca has maintained its proposal Motors Building "for its potential as a group work room."
"There must be students to define the needs of the new school project" argues Patricia Reus, professor of the subject.
"And we would become concerning if some kind of collaboration between students and professionals to develop the project is established," he adds.
The exhibition of the proposals of the students has been designed and implemented by the students themselves, who have had to stick to a budget, meeting deadline requirements, functionality and construction details.
"It was the closest to reality out a mini project Architecture" say proud makers, who have enjoyed the cooperation of the whole class to paint the ship engines and make an audiovisual presentation on the model
