The student of the Polytechnic of Cartagena Clara Max has returned to emerge.
The student of the School of Telecommunication record-breaking enrollment of honor (25) obtained during a race at the UPCT, has been recognized its Final Grade (TFG) the best of the past year were presented.
"Clara was the first researcher to use the SIW technology (integrated waveguide substrate) to make lowpass filters," explains his tutor TFG, Alejandro Alvarez Melcón.
The work stands out for its multidisciplinary approach, applying mathematical filter synthesis techniques, simulators management software for computer design and manufacturing of the prototype.
"It covers all phases of a real industrial project, from conception of the idea to the demonstration of the feasibility of the new device," notes Alvarez Melcón.
"Only one of every 100 TFG get it," he adds.
The filter designed and manufactured by the student, who this year attends the Master of Telecommunication, is less bulky and easier to tune than those currently used in aerospace communications to reject and limit interference and noise in the information channels.
"Using mathematical techniques can set the filter design to get the required performance," explains the author of the work, which is already preparing articles and conference papers on microwave and radio to present their progress to the international scientific community.
