This year a new edition of the event March Women has gathered today, May 26, five hundred women who have joined their way towards a worthy cause.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to dorsal lainvestigación rare Niemann Pick.
They have not missed the charity event Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejon and the Councillor for Equality, David Martinez.
At 10:00 hours in the morning women from different associations they have gathered in the Plaza of Spain to start your route together.
The march has traveled the Alameda de San Anton, Sebastian street and highway Ferigán Tentegorra and has finished in the park Rafael de la Cerda.
Deputy Mayor of Cartagena has stressed that it will more than twenty editions of March Women and that through joining forces go year after year, this sporting event is already part of equality policies.
The mayor reiterated its commitment to continue investing in this type of initiative and expressed their willingness to start walking in policies leading most transgressive and equality.
For his part, Councillor for Equality has highlighted the importance of the March Women, because on one hand serves for women to play sports, which is very beneficial to health, and on the other hand help the Niemann Pick Foundation to are disclosed.
According to David Martinez, though affecting a small number of people, it is important to investigate and support this cause to improve the quality of life of those affected by the disease.
Once in the park women have enjoyed a day together with various activities among which highlighted a raffle in which collaborated ASIDO donating a raffle box.
In turn, Harmony Association Mateos and the Regional Federation of Women FEDAM have made a family lottery whose proceeds also will go to the Niemann Pick Foundation.
Women march is organized by the Department of Equality and has enjoyed the cooperation of the Department of Sports City of Cartagena.
NIEMANN PICK
The Niemann Pick Foundation, created in 2001, it works nationally for 15 years to try to mitigate the effects of this rare disease and those affected at the same time, encourage such research.
The Foundation brings together some 40 families throughout Spain.
This rare disease is an accumulation of cholesterol in the brain that degenerates the person and can cause seizures, ataxias or dysfunctions in speech.
