The Regional Museum of Modern Art in Cartagena (Muram) today opened the exhibition 'Searching for the light', in which a series of sculptures of various formats, techniques and corresponding to 30 years of creation of the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida materials shown.
The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson and Eduardo Chillida-Pilar Belzunce Foundation.
The Muram hosts until the end of August, this selection of 39 works made with materials like alabaster, steel and fireclay land as well as works on paper (drawings, collages, prints and gravitations) whose protagonist brightness makes particularly each parts occupying different floors of the museum.

Seeking light 'receives in the Muram, on the ground floor, one of the most important pieces of the exhibition: a large sculpture of steel, 1,300 kg, belonging to the series' Council to space', which is complemented in the room with a recorded large.

Large alabaster, a stone, 'gravitations' (a kind of paper sculptures suspended by ropes, as if gravitate and ascend) and 'land' or 'Lurrak' refer to white light.

All works are original and were made by Chillida between 1970 and late 90s.

The sample is also full with 39 exhibited original works, with a series of objects as models, sketches, drawings and materials used by Eduardo Chillida in his works under the name of 'History of the materialization', aims to show how he worked the creator.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:00 hours;
Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00.
