Mayor Jose Lopez presided over the Europe Day events with a guest who posed as president of the NGO "European Movement in France", although the organization does not hold any office.
On Monday last week, Lopez read a manifesto and staged a solemn flag hoisting with Eric Meseguer, which has no national or regional responsibility "European Movement".
The president of "European Movement in France" is, in fact, the journalist and MEP Jean-Marie Cavada, who holds that position since December 2011, according to the popular spokesman denounced Diego Ortega.
Ortega said that "the mayor has used an impostor to deceive the cartageneros in an official ceremony. Jose Lopez and his government lied in the campaign, they have lied in Parliament and now have become much more creative and lie even in the public events. you dare everything. and besides, the mayor tried to prevent what we discovered and that prevented our group was present in this farce. While the Assembly held that day with all political groups, Mr. Lopez, one again, he organized an official act only for their own. "
Lopez was accompanied by the delegate in Murcia of European Movement in Spain, Luis Carlos García Conesa, which is curiously a militant party mayor and was recently promoted to technical manager for Culture and Heritage of the City of Cartagena.
"Mr. Conesa I insisted on presenting the guest as French president of the organization, knowing full well that was a lie. It is clear that García Conesa participated in this scam so that his boss had an act of personal brilliance. This helper was brought to give all the appearance of international act, but really that was no more than a farce from beginning to end. "
The spokesman said that "Jose Lopez have to explain to Cartagena and tell everyone why this farce staged and why prevented the presence of the opposition"
Celebrations and events organized to mark Europe Day on 9 May spread across the continent, but Lopez sold in Europe as the first day in Cartagena was not on the list of events planned by the European Movement.
