The Local Government Board, which met this morning under the chairmanship of Mayor, Jose Lopez, has accepted the assignment to the City Council two plots by a developer which will allow the continuation of the promenade between Mar de Cristal and smaller islands.

The land ceded to the session will be made available to Costas to carry out the work.

The Board has also approved the agreement of the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction with elColectivo of the Huertecica, totaling amount of about 133,000 euros, with which the council will collaborate in sustaining the various services provided by the Huertecica through their day centers and host, as well as their prevention programs.

HOLIDAY IN PEACE AND GRANTS FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Another agreement of the Governing Board has been the agreement with the Smile Sahrawi Association for programaVacaciones in Peace, which will allow a hundred Saharawi children are welcome during the months of July and August cartageneras families, and what the City will provide 7,100 euros.

Also in this social section, the Board of Governors approved the call for aid for the purchase of school supplies and textbooks, amounting to 35,000 euros.

In the section of Finance, the Board of Governors approved the cancellation of several planned multiannual expenditure for hiring separately from maintenance of elevators and air conditioners in various buildings and local municipal non-administrative use, such as Batel, the medical and social local offices, among others;

while it has approved the grouping of all these contracts into one that will include the maintenance of all elevators and one with all air conditioners in order to improve their management and cost.

Also it approved a multi-annual expenditure of 9.4 million euros and the tender conditions for hiring over the next two years of the power supply low voltage of the City of Cartagena.

Artisanal Fisheries Promotion

Another approved multi-year expenditure has been one of 10,000 euros to be used by the Department of Tourism, Agriculture and Fisheries, for the signing of an agreement with the Columbares Association for the Promotion of Artisanal Fisheries Sustainable in the municipality of Cartagena .

This initiative will try to show each month a species of fish caught by traditional methods on our shores, offering it in food markets and providing recipes for their preparation.

The Board has also approved the extension of the right to use old school of La Ermita de Tallante by the Cooperative Penas Blancas that for two years it takes an innovative educational project with 33 children.

SUBSIDIES AND OLDER WOMEN

Among other issues the Board of Governors approved the call for grants to clubs higher, amounting to 64,100 euros, to cover their activities and maintenance costs of the premises;

while it has given the green light to the awarding of grants to 61 groups and associations of women in the municipality, amounting to 65,000 euros.

Finally it has realized resolutions and other qualifying securities by the Directorate General of Planning, from 4 to 17 May, and will involve the execution of works amounting to 848,000 euros, relating to the construction or renovation of 15 homes and conditioning of 28 local or commercial establishments.
