The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, this morning attended the signing of the extension of the collaboration agreement theGroup SISMIMUR Seismic Evaluation Plan.
The event took place in Lorca Palacio de Guevara, two days after the fifth anniversary of the earthquake in that city and that cost the lives of nine people, more than three hundred wounded and countless damage to homes, businesses and buildings.
Along with Lopez, have signed the agreement the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagán;
the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UCPT), Alejandro Diaz;
the dean of the College of Architects of the Region (COAMU), Antonio Garcia;
the dean of the Regional Demarcation of the College of Civil Engineering, Channels and Ports (CICCP), Manuel Jodar;
and the president of the Association of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers Region (COAMU), Antonio Luis Marmol.
In addition, it featured the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar.
After the signing, Jose Lopez has stressed the importance of collaboration between government, indicating that together we can do important things and leave the caboose within the Spanish state, and asserted that our children and citizens they will thank us.
In relation to the very serious consequences of the earthquake, Lopez addressed to his counterpart in Lorca, Francisco Jodar, to convey the solidarity character of Cartagena, making itself available to clarify what lorquina city.
The SISMIMUR Plan is a special plan of Civil Protection to the seismic risk in the region of Murcia, which was signed in 2014, and aims to ensure effective and coordinated intervention of available resources and means in order to limit the consequences of potential earthquakes that may occur on people, property and the environment.
Of this agreement are part the City of Cartagena, the autonomous region, the city of Murcia, laUPCT, the Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM), the Association of Architects of the Region, the Regional Demarcation of the College of Civil Engineers, Canales and Ports, and the College of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of the Region.
