The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), under the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, has included the new Unit Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in ComCiRed where the units in Spain that aim to bridge the gap between science and innovation and society are grouped through disclosure.
Units of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) are one of the main actors in the dissemination and popularization of science and innovation in Spain.
Network UCC + i aims to promote exchange experiences and finding synergies between entities which improves the quality of products and services UCC + i and promotes resource optimization.
"The UCC + i is perfect for our Communication Service and our disclosure policy technological complement to society," notes the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Diaz Morcillo.
Unit Scientific Culture and Innovation UPCT is coordinated by José Luis Serrano, also responsible for the Campus of Engineering, the fair disclosure of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena to attend each year more than 5,000 students from all cycles educational, and which simultaneously shows the technological potential of the university, secondary schools and businesses.
"The goal is to channel, promote, coordinate and facilitate the application for aid to the Disclosing work already widespread in the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and seeks the promotion of engineering vocations," Serrano said.
"In the network of UCC + i polytechnics are accompanying us UP4 and is the ideal area for importing and exporting ideas and dissemination techniques," he adds.

One of the first interventions of the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena will be the participation in the European Film Festival Fantastic Murcia through a conference 'UPCT-Bloopbusters: science or fiction' to be held on Thursday May 19 in room B of the Regional film Archive, in order to check the scientific reliability of the technological aspects shown in futuristic movies.
