On Thursday May 12 at 11.30 hours will be held the awards ceremony of the 2016 awards Mandarache and Hache in the Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel of Cartagena.
These awards make up the Mandarache Readers Training Project, organized since 2004 by the City of Cartagena, and awarded the National Prize for the Promotion of Reading in 2014 by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
Alejandro Palomas and Patricia Garcia-Rojo, winners Mandarache and Hache, respectively, return to our city to receive this literary prize of 3,000 euros and a reproduction of a sculpture by artist Angel Haro, which has been made by the workshop Special Employment center PROLAM-Astus, Tutelar Association of People with Disabilities.
A total of 1,400 young people will be the guests who will enjoy this gala, which will be directed by actress Beatriz Macia, where they were officially presented to the six finalists writers of the twelfth edition of this project, with important developments for next year .
By the City of Cartagena, will be represented by the mayor, Jose Lopez, as well as Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejon;
Youth Councilman, Ricardo Segado;
and the mayor of Culture, David Martinez.
In addition to the prizes to the writers, they will be delivered called Supplemental Awards, which young participants are awarded the project through different modalities: Award of Literary Criticism, Illustration Award, Award for fiction, Competition Videocitas Literary, Award to the best work of a teaching team and Prize for the best work of promoting reading.
For the media, there will be a preliminary meeting with writers and Councilman Ricardo Segado to las11.00 pm in the same auditorium.
