The Mediterranean IES has 20 years of solidarity educating in values (09/05/2016)

Solidarity reigned on Friday 6 May in the auditorium of the UPCT, where the Mediterranean IES developed a year gathering his charity concert two decades of music and performances for a good cause: to sponsor children in different parts of the world.

The XX Concert of Solidarity again raise their voices to denounce various situations of injustice in society, achieving a success that year became noticeable with a packed auditorium, with its accompanying applause performance after performance.

The purpose was to raise funds to keep the 14 sponsored children from the NGO ActionAid and to increase this number.

Councillor for Culture, David Martinez, was asked to say the first words of welcome to all attendees, recognizing the great work of the institute with music as the best method to teach values.

The center's director, Inés Iglesias, the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology UPCT, Mathieu Kessler, and student UPCT presiding ESN International Association, Alexey Pudovkin, and followed him to make way for the start of the concert a little more at 6 pm, where the director, Antonio Parra was one of the main threads of the event.

The ceremony was also attended by the Councillor of the municipal corporation Manuel Padin.

Nine presenters were responsible for guiding the gala showing solidarity shirts from different years, colors and slogans, making a nod to the twenty-year history of a consolidated concert still has much to say.

One by one and with a touch of humor that characterizes each year presentations, gave way to the 17 concert performances: a rate of Macaco students of the training courses were part of his performance for the hearing impaired, other ESO did a reading solidarity pointing everyday acts that are solidarity, and alumni returned to the concert to interpret their own songs calling for the valuation of elders as Lydia Martin with his song Ella, or versions of classics to the lyrical style as Tony Salazar, among many others.

In the rest of the concert and in order that the project also reversed in Cartagena, was held by students of Erasmus + a solidarity lunch for all attendees program, whose proceeds will go to a local NGO.

After more than two hours of music, IES Mediterranean closed with a concert projection, which intends to add many more decades of solidarity.
