The Port of Cartagena receives this Saturday May 7, the new image of San Ginés de la Jara in an act that rememorará the choice of the saint as Patron of Cartagena.
In this event, organized by the Brotherhood of Romeros of San Ginés de la Jara, the image is moved to City Hall, where he will be greeted by the mayor, Jose Lopez.
In addition, they attend Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejon, Councilman Celebration, Juan Pedro Torralba, Councillor for Youth, Ricardo Segado, the Councillor of Finance, Isabel Garcia, the Councillor for Tourism, Obdulia Gomez and Councilwoman Transparency, Maria José Soler.
Upon receipt, the image will move to the Plaza de San Gines where the historical moment of the election of the saint as the patron of Cartagena will be staged, which occurred on April 27, 1677, where before an epidemic the people of the city invoked the pattern to mitigate its effects.
This day will be completed with the blessing of the new image in the Plaza San Francisco after which floral unaofrenda will occur and an anthem will debut in honor of the saint, after which we will proceed to move back the image to the Basilica of Charity .
In addition, on Sunday, May 8, at the Maypole Brotherhood will be a solidarity paella.
