The area councilor Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, and the mayor delegate of Social Services, Carmen Martin, met this morning with Bethlehem Squares and Rocio Lopez, representatives of the Carousel Foundation.
During the meeting, held at the administrative building of San Miguel, they have presented new proposals for a posiblecolaboración between the city and the organization.
The Roundabout Foundation aims to influence the positive effects of working with animals, nature and the outdoors in the care of people with disabilities in the aging process.
Calderon explained that, at a forthcoming meeting, voluntary association presented a report with the activities carried out in order to be able to establish a collaboration with the City Council through the Department of Environment and Social Services.
Similarly, the mayor has said that after the meeting two weeks ago with representatives of the Roundabout Foundation, which was also attended by the mayor, Jose Lopez, they have been in contact with various associations working with people They are suffering from diseases such as fibromyalgia.
FOUNDATION CAROUSEL
The Roundabout Foundation, created in 2005, is a non-profit organization whose main objectives are to make available to people with therapies disability support conventional, using the horse as the main therapeutic tool, without ruling the use of other animals.
It also seeks to promote personal development, quality of life and social integration of people with disabilities through interaction between people, animals and natural environment, to reveal attitudes aimed at respect for the environment and animals, the promotion of activities related to the Assisted Therapies for Animals and facilitate socio-employment of people with disabilities.
The organization has an office in Cartagena of over 11,000 square meters in the Place Los Garcias, located in the deputation of Miranda, which performs various activities such as hippotherapy sessions, therapeutic riding school groups or workshops focused on horse knowledge.
