Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 made this morning a military parade in the port of Cartagena to publicly commemorate the heroic uprising against Napoleon and his troops, led by the captains of artillery Daoíz and Velarde, along with other military and people from Madrid.
Force has been formed by Squad, Band, battery Honors with Line salvos of cannon Epoch, and paid tribute to the Cuban flag and the authority which has presided over the ceremony, the general manager Command Antiaircraft Artillery, José Miguel de los Santos Granados.
At the start of military action it has proceeded to gloss the figure of both captains and have narrated the events of the day on May 2, 1808, to then move to the oath of flag of civilian personnel, who has enjoyed the parade 112 people have pledged to uphold the Constitution and loyalty to the king, giving his life in defense of Spain if necessary.

the mayor of Tourism, Obdulia Gómez;
and the Councillor for Transparency, José María Soler and other members of the municipal corporation.

The Uprising of May 2, 1808 is the name that is referred to the events in Madrid that were produced by the popular protest against the situation of political uncertainty arising after the Mutiny of Aranjuez, a few weeks had gone before.
