Public School City of Cartagena, SPAT Security, yesterday, Thursday, April 28, the first course on Update on Police Intervention with Mentally Ill in the legal and criminal aspects and medical care.
The aim of this course was to convey to participants the skills and knowledge needed to manage in interventions in which a lot of stress generated by the type of the person suffering the disorder and family around him.
The course addressed the legal and criminal aspect in policing with the mentally ill and the considerations of the Civil Code, regarding involuntary admissions.
Another aspect was to publicize the Protocol Coordination of actions for transfers and income of people suffering from mental illness in the CARM and expose the Constitutional Court ruling of December 2, 2010: Transfers and internments of people with mental illness Forces Bodies and State Security.
Another aspect addressed this course are doctors and health when making a police intervention with the mentally ill aspects.
The number of participants has led to 20 students between police officers and the operating units.
The course has been taught by Ignacio Ruiz Munitiz, Magistrate Judge of the Court of Instruction No. 5 of Cartagena, Carmen Sanchez and Senac, Coroner, Deputy Director of the Institute of Legal Medicine.
