The municipalities of Cartagena and La Union celebrated this weekend, 23 and 24 April, the First National Days of Activism in Defense of Public Health, a discussion forum for this right of citizens with the common goal of vindicating the general interest in health and coordinate future action.
Conferences, roundtables, presentations by various experts, debates and workshops were the activities of these two days in which they were shared experiences and strategies at national level to promote coordination and improvement in terms of health.
This first edition of the conference has been organized by the Platform in Defence of the Health Salvemos The Rosell, by the Association of Users of Health of the Region of Murcia and the Association in Defense of Public Health of the Region of Murcia.
The event was attended by the Councillor for Health of the City of Cartagena, Francisco Calderon, mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez, the mayor of Fuente Alamo, Antonio Jesus Garcia, spokesman for the platform Salvemos Rosell, Leandro Sanchez and deputy in the Regional Assembly, Antonio Guillamón.
The first day, Saturday April 23, activities were developed in the Old Market of the Union, while the conclusions and closing on Sunday, 24 were based in Cartagena, at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, ceremony he attended active participation by the Councillor for Health, Francisco Calderon day which was also attended by the Councillor for Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martin, as well as municipal group spokesman Cartagena Si, Se Puede Pilar Marcos.
The conference, free registration, formed a space aimed at groups, movements, platforms and citizens who care and strive for public health.
Some of the topics discussed were the valorisation of good practices in combating health exclusion or sharing strategies stoppage of health privatization.
