The new Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Alejandro Diaz Morcillo, said during his inauguration that their management of the school will focus on internationalization, teaching and research quality, innovation in the management and alliance policy.
Morcillo Diaz said that although the Polytechnic University of Cartagena is a small institution, "will go hand in hand with larger structures enable us to develop our work with better means, reduce the cost of those services and university needs as we have."
Apart from that, the new Rector of the UPCT noted that the University will continue to have a social commitment to its students to offer more opportunities for personal and professional development.
It also wants to reverse "the break that there has been stabilization and promotion of our workers" and fulfill social work, because "we owe to our society and we must persevere in the way of that scientific and technological communication" through University Extension or the new unit of science and technology.
The new president has also said that will not change what "is already running at the University".

On the financing of the new university rector he recalled that have been left behind six very difficult years in which the budget of the educational institution was reduced from 2010 to 2014 from 62 million to 48 million.
However, he pointed out the importance of multiyear financing plan was signed with the Autonomous Community.
"The University of Murcia and the UPCT have spent years of austerity, but our duty and we are positioned in the top rankings."
The event, which has also taken over the governing team, was also attended by the outgoing rector, Jose Antonio Franco, who recalled his 13 years in various rectories equipment.
