Councillor for Culture, David Martinez, announced that the Festival of the Sea of ​​Music already has the poster for this year to be held in Cartagena from 15 to 23 July.
Martinez has confirmed that the poster presentation is scheduled for next week.
The author of the poster of this edition is the pop artist Juan Ugalde (Bilbao, 1958) that collect in this work the spirit of lamezcla of influences and cultures that gather every year at the festival.
Ugalde is an artist of figurative aesthetic that has developed his artistic side within abstract expressionism and has experienced in his creations a kind of painting and photography that has as inspiration the comics published in Spain, and other iconic influences like hieroglyphics, landscapes kitsch, jokes or drawings with computer.
OVER 40 PERFORMANCES
The mayor of Culture has said that in two weeks a preview of programming including holding 40 concerts in seven different scenarios, a program that takes preparing for several months and has made the festival director, Paco Martin announced.
In addition, the council has maintained that from the Department of Culture are coordinating all work areas of the festival with great effort and collaboration by the technical staff.
Martinez stressed that among these 40 performances include concerts 10 soloists and music groups invited country, Sweden.
Martinez has already predicted that these actions include different styles of music ranging from gypsy punk to Scandinavian influences in the music of pop and rock without forgetting the músicaelectrónica, reggae, techno and funk.
