On the occasion of the collaboration agreement between the City of Cartagena and the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia, to the launch of a holiday program senior tourism Austria, in the coming days they will arrive about ten thousand tourists to the La Manga del Mar Menor.

Councillor for Tourism of the City of Cartagena, Obdulia Gómez, explained that this program will help break senior tourism seasonality and contribute to laproyección outside the municipality as a tourist destination within a strategic market.

This holiday program is the annual offer to all its members a weekly trip for five weeks, coinciding with spring, maintaining the supply of each destination for two consecutive years.
This program is to be a flow of between 7,000 and 10,000 tourists a year by destination, since the rooms are always eight days and seven nights per person.
Acts of reception and welcome groups will be on 7, 14, 21, April 28 and May 5, with an expected attendance of 2,000 people every day.
The groups will be housed in the Entremares, Dolphins and Gulls municipality of Cartagena hotels;
Mangalán of San Javier and Costa Narejos in Los Alcazares.

Each of the five groups will make visits to Cartagena on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday making a route through the city with visits to the Naval Museum, Roman Theatre and Licor 43.
